Product review: Sothing Fabric Shaver, Rechargeable Lint Remover, Use On Cotton, Polyester & Silk

 

This fabric shaver works well. It removes the pills in just a few strokes. Nice to see some of my favorite knits looking like new.

The shaver comes with a rechargeable battery and a C-type charging cable.  It glows red when charging and turns green when it is fully charged.

The removed fuzz is stored in a transparent acrylic compartment so you can see when it is time to empty it. Removing the compartment is easy. The package also includes a small brush to clean to help with emptying it.

Product review: Green Ekii Antaxid Reflux & Heartburn Calendula & Kaolin Liquid Suspension

 

 Green Ekii Antaxid Reflux liquid is a thick and slimy liquid with an unpleasant taste. Its consistency reminds me of honey but obviously not its taste. It does appear to coat the internals to decrease heartburn and bloating effectively, but it is difficult to consume due to unpleasant texture and taste.

Product review: Little Giant Ladders, Jumbo Step, 3-Step, 2 Foot, Step Stool, Aluminum, Type 1AA, 375 lbs Weight Rating, (11903)

 

The Little Giant step stool replaced a step stool without a handlebar.  I can't believe the difference; I feel so secure on top of it! 

The listing description did not have all the measurements I wanted to know in advance:

* Each step is 8.5" D x 13.5" W*
* Floor to first step = 9"
* Floor to second step = 18"
* Floor to third step = 27"
* From the third step to handlebar top = 27"
* Front legs extend 10" forward
* Feet 2" x 3"
* Weight 16 pounds

Some other notes:

* One of the things I use the step stool for is to change batteries in my Arlo video camera, hung outside under the porch. I stand on the stool that is inside and reach forward.  The front legs of this step stool extend forward 10". This places me too far away from the camera, and I can't reach it leaning forward, which I could do with my old step stool. I managed to do it by placing the step stool sideways and then reaching out to the side rather than forward.

* Carrying the step stool requires me to hold it by a metal edge which really digs into my hand.  I wish there were a silicone pad on the edge of the step so it was easier to carry. I keep a small hand towell near the step stool, so my hand has some soft protection.

Overall, fabulous step stool. I just wish I bought it earlier, it would have saved me from many anxious climbs.

Product review: Consdan Handcraft Solid Oak Wood Stool , low stool

 

What a great little stool; it exceeded my expectations.  It is very sturdy and well made. It is made out of solid oak, the top of the stool has a beautiful grain finish, the feet have felt pads to protect the floor from scratching.  Made in the USA.

It can be used as a child stool or a stool for tying shoes.  I thought it was attractive enough to use it as a stand for a diffuser.

Product review: MIXC Plant Caddy, 12 Inch Plant Stand with Wheels, Outdoor Round Wood Rolling Plant Dolly

 I usually prefer wood to plastic, but not in this case.  These plant caddies are not finished very well, so they are likely to get ruined by constant runoff from the plant pot that will rest on the caddy.  I got these caddies for the outside deck, and I doubt they will last for many seasons being outside in the rain and water runoff from the plants.  Each plant caddy is 28 oz.  The wheels are screwed in and not removable.  They have locks.  There is a hole in the middle of each caddy for drainage.  If scalloped edges were visible, they would be attractive, but in my case, they are covered by the pots and are not visible.

Product review: Power Pro Foot File by Precision Beauty

 

 I have been using callus removers for several years. This is a decent callus remover but does not have some of the advanced features some callus removers have now, such as rechargeable batteries with a digital readout showing battery level, or vacuum which sucks up the ground off skin.

On the positive side, it does a good job removing thickened skin or trimming toenails. It removes skin or nails in a very thin layer. Removing skin in a very thin layer is a good thing; it prevents injury to healthy skin.

The package includes:
* The callus remover.
* A small brush to clean the callus remover.
* A spare griding heads (so there is a total of two).

I have a callus on the bottom of my foot. If it gets too thick, it bothers me when I walk, and I used to see a podiatrist so he could grind it down for me. Then I discovered electric callus removers, and they work as well as what my podiatrist does. I use the callus removers dry; they are not painful at all; they remove dry skin in a very thin layer. I worked a few seconds at a time, checking the result not to remove too much skin.  I  have not been back to a podiatrist since I began using electric callus removers a few years ago.

The callus remover runs on two AA batteries.  Batteries are not included. I use rechargeable AA batteries, and they power the callus remover sufficiently to do a good job.

Product review: Micron Face Mask Made in Canada Level 3

 

Micron masks are three-ply masks with a nose clip. They fit comfortably over my face, do not pull on ears too much, and breathing in them is very easy.

I test each mask with a water test.  I fill the mask with water, hold the water in the mask for about a minute, and test for leaks.  This mask did not leak, so it means it can protect me from spittle-carrying COVID droplets.

I took the mask on and off several times while testing it, and the loops stayed attached and did not snap off.  The only negative is that the mask has an Ozone or similar scent to them,  I am glad they were disinfected, but I hope the scent will go away as I air out the masks.
