Product review: Luke’s Gift Japanese Culture Style Journals Notebook

I am a big time notetaker. I always have a big stack of notebooks with ideas, things I need to do, and so forth.  I always enjoy pretty covers so I can tell my journals apart.  This unlike journal has heavy stock paper, it similar to sketch notepad paper, only slightly thinner than my watercolor paper notebooks.  The drawing on the cover is both on the hard cover as well as on the paper wrap that goes around the cover.  The pages themselves are totally blank - no lines and no decorations. I use the paper wrap is a book mark, using one of the ends to mark where I am in the notebook.

The notebooks look classy with a one tone leather binding and a color coordinated ribbon bookmark.  Each journal has an elastic that keeps the notebook closed, especially nice when I travel or carry the notebook with me.   It has a ribbon which gets straight to where I left off.

 The notebook is 7.2" long and 5.2" wide.  Made in China. It is 160 pages.

Product review: Miracase Wireless Sports Bluetooth Headphones In-Ear

Miracase Bluetooth headphones paired flawlessly with my two phones.  The sound is nice and clear without distortion.  The Bluetooth range is fine with the phone resting in my pants pockets phone or on the table while I work.  However, if I walk away about 5 feet the sound begins to break up.  I use these headphone while working to cover up the distracting conversations and noises by pleasant music.  The headphones are comfortable and I am able to wear them all day long.  The range is a bit less than advertised but perfectly fine the way I use them (pocket or desk).  I really like how comfortable they are and their sound.  They are much better then having wired headphones as I can move between my two computers without having to worry about the cord.

Update: I have been using the head phone for about a month. I noticed that the distance at which Bluetooth streams music without breaks decreased.  Now when I carry the phone in my pants pocket the sound breaks up.  It works better when it lays on the desk while I am wearing the  headphone sitting in front of the computer.

Product review: Hippo&Crate Toothbrush with Bamboo Charcoal bristles Pack of 4 (black toothbrush)

This toothbrush is soft and feel gentle on my gums.  I have to admit that I got it because I liked the black look.
It fits nicely into my black and white bathroom.  I also like that the toothbrushes come with a cap, which makes this toothbrush also good for travel.

Product review: Shampoo and Conditioner Hair Care System - 3 Piece Gift Box by Hot Tresses

This shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer set smells have an  minty scent with earthy background. It is not what I would describe a flowery scent

This shampoo has no parabens and it is fairly low suds shampoo. I thought my hair looked good after washing  - clean and shiny. On weekends when I have more time I also use leave-in moisturizer. It works best when you air dry you hair and even though I am in the rush in the mornings I let my hair dry naturally on the weekends. The moisturizer leaves my hair feeling softer and I hope it is good for it as well.

The set was nicely packaged, and each tube was foil sealed.  The tubes can stand on the caps but are a little wobbly.  After using them in the shower for a few days I managed to knock them down a few times and now they are upside down in a caddy which keeps them from falling down. If I wanted to  change anything I would make the containers more stable when they are free standing on their caps.

Overall, I am pleased with all three items products in the set.

Product review: DreamLifter Team Tripod Mount Set By DreamLifter for Smartphones Go-Pro Cameras and other light photo cameras

This is a light tripod aimed to hold light cameras - such as Go-Pro and phone cameras.  It stated capacity is 5 founds, but I would limit it to a couple of pounds to be safe.  With that per-amble it is a full featured tripod that is very light.


- It has quick release legs. This tripod's quick releases operate smoothly and the hold is good.  The legs have four sections. The bottom portion of the legs is quite thin, and that's where the weight limit feels most critical.

- This tripod  does not have a quick plate.  It does come with 1/4" standard screw.

- Lightweight. 12.85 oz.

- Tripod's maximum height is 41". When it is collapsed its size is 14".

Overall, pretty good tripod for light cameras and phone cameras.

Product review: 18/10 Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls with Handles, Lids, Spout, Non-slip Silicone Base (by Casy)

This is a nice set of stainless steel bowls. The set includes three bowls and one lid (for the small bowl). The two larger bowls have a handle and beak for pouring. All three bowls have a silicone base (non-slip bottoms). They bowls fit into each other for storage.

Large bowl: 9.5" diameter x 5.5" deep
Medium bowl: 8" diameter x 4.75" deep
Small bowl: 6.5" diameter x 4" deep

Overall, nice set of size - good sizes, well made, I like them!

Product review: IRIS GEMMA 1 Pair of Hypoallergenic White Gold Plated Punk Sun Ear Cuff Ear Jacket Earrings

I liked the picture on the listing that showed the silver spokes visible behind behind the ear. Unfortunately on my ears if you place the jacket behind the ear you can see only the very tips of the spokes and this does not look nice.

On the positive side the jacket takes any stud earring so I can use it not only with this earring but my own.

From the hole in the middle of the jacket to the bottom of jacket the length is 1/2".  So you can measure if these jackets will work for you.

The seller's description says that some people need to bend the earrings to fit their ear. Maybe this description means that the seller suggests that the jacket's spokes have to be straightened by the buyer to make them longer (they are at a 90 degree angle so they surround the bead if the jacket is placed in front of the ear).

However, I do not have tools to reshape the earrings and I am sure if I did they would come out crooked as I have no experience in manipulating tiny earring parts.  I really liked how the earrings looked in the stock photo, but if they need to be stretched and reshaped to achieve this result the seller should have performed this task before shipping the earrings.

Since the earrings are usable and work with other studs I am giving them a three star rating, but I am disappointed that I could not get the unique look liked in the stock photo.
